I have chronically low Vitamin D and need to take 4000 IU daily in winter and 2000 IU in the summer if I get outside. I have been taking Nature Made Vitamin D3 1000 IU, Liquid Softgels and love them. I decided to switch to a higher potency so I wouldn't have to take several pills and I got these. I didn't realize at the time that these were pills similar to uncoated aspirin.but smaller. The 2000 IU takes care of my summertime needs in one small round pill. In winter, two of them do the job.They are working fine as my Vitamin D level is normal and has been for a long time after being so low that I had to have it given to me intravenously then load up on many thousands of units for two weeks. Now my daily routine keeps my level up without overdoing it.I have to say though that I do prefer the softgels to the pills. The pills are easy to swallow although not coated but I take a number of supplements and my stomach has slight inflammation so I try to avoid uncoated pills. I will take what I have with no hesitations but will go back to the softgels when this bottle is gone. That is purely a personal preference and I can't fault the pills for being what they are. They are small enough that almost anyone could swallow them with ease and have never bothered my stomach. They are keeping my Vitamin D levels consistent and this brand is affordable and trustworthy. I went with 5 stars despite the fact that I prefer softgels because these do exactly as promised for a price most can afford.
